Demand for adult ADHD support has never been higher. But not all of what’s on offer is as rigorous as your clients deserve.
This status is designed to recognise practitioners who bring something more: deeper training, applied clinical work, and a genuine commitment to integrative practice.
A recognised specialist credential signals safety, commitment and relevant expertise. It shows clients and referrers that your ADHD expertise is grounded in structured training and assessed clinical work.
The pathway integrates cognitive, emotional and body-informed approaches, equipping you to work with the full complexity of adult ADHD, including co-occurring trauma, emotional dysregulation and nervous system challenges.
Certified practitioners appear in The Grove’s searchable directory under their specialist status, giving them visibility to clients and colleagues who are actively looking for ADHD-trained therapists.
The professional title and digital badge are yours to use on your website, email signature, social media and client-facing materials.
This status is for qualified, established therapists, counsellors, psychotherapists, psychologists or psychiatrists who are working with (or moving towards working with) adult ADHD clients. This status is not available to ADHD coaches or practitioners without recognised professional qualifications and body membership.
Applicant criteria:
We believe ADHD is a multi-system experience, one that intersects with trauma, emotional dysregulation, somatic experience, relationships and identity.
Our training encourages you to work in a way that integrates cognitive, emotional and embodied processes, supporting clients in developing self-awareness, regulation and agency, from a strength-based foundation.
That’s what sets Grove-trained practitioners apart. Not just understanding ADHD, but knowing how to work with it, humanely and skilfully, in the room.
The Certified Adult ADHD+ Practitioner status is awarded only to qualified, accredited practitioners who have completed multiple specialist courses and passed assessed written work demonstrating applied, reflective clinical practice.
Our courses are recognised by BACP, UKCP, BPS, COSRT, and other professional bodies. The Grove is accredited by NCIP as a CPD training centre.
To hold this status, you commit to remaining professionally active, maintaining your membership, supervision, insurance and ongoing CPD in ADHD and neurodiversity.
The status is overseen by Dr James Kustow, Consultant Psychiatrist, The Grove’s Medical Director and one of the UK’s most respected voices on adult ADHD. He is the author of How to Thrive with Adult ADHD (Penguin, 2024) and the creator of the 10 Domains of Dysregulation model, the framework at the heart of our integrative approach.
His endorsement reflects a commitment to clinical rigour, ethical practice, and an approach that recognises ADHD as a multi-dimensional, lived experience affecting mind and body.
