I’ve been a counsellor for many years and truly feel privileged to do what I do. To sit in a room with someone as they tell you about themselves is a unique experience. Clients often tell me things that that they have never told anyone before. While my core training is Psychodynamic, over the years I’ve added to my therapeutic toolkit and use a variety of therapies.
I work both short-term and long-term with individuals. While short-term work (one session, six sessions) is more goal-focused, dealing with one specific issue, long-term work (6 months plus) allows me to see clients evolve and change, so that they are better able to deal with life’s challenges.
I also work with couples and relationships, helping people communicate more effectively. It is very different to working with individuals, but equally as rewarding. My clients come from all walks of life, range from young adults (18+) to older clients and need help in a variety of ways.
Therapy, to me, is a weekly conversation where, together, we think about your life- all of it. My goal is about helping you to understand yourself better and to live a healthier life.
