The Complete Trauma Therapy Toolkit

Written by therapists and trauma educators Elliot Davis, Sarah Briggs and Robert Rees, The Complete Trauma Therapy Toolkit is a clinically grounded guide to recognising trauma, planning treatment and supporting recovery.

It brings together contemporary trauma theory, clinical experience, real case material and practical resources you can use in the therapy room.

The book draws from psychological, relational, cognitive and somatic approaches while maintaining a clear relational focus. It is designed to sit alongside your existing practice, whether you work integratively, psychodynamically, person-centredly, cognitively, somatically or systemically.

It is suitable for experienced trauma specialists and for qualified practitioners who are finding trauma increasingly present in their caseload.

About the authors

The book grew from our work as therapists, supervisors and trauma educators.

Again and again, practitioners asked us how to recognise trauma when it is hidden beneath competence or shame, what to do when a client becomes overwhelmed or dissociates, and how to translate theory into something useful in the room.

We wrote this book to offer structure, companionship and practical help, not a script for every session, but a resource to help you feel steadier and clearer in complex moments.
