Robert is a Clinic Director of The Grove Practice in London where he works as part of the senior leadership and clinical team, since 2016. He is a UKCP Accredited Psychotherapist & Trauma Therapist, Supervisor, Executive Coach and Faculty Member on The Grove’s Post Graduate teaching programmes.
Robert works with individuals, couples, groups and organisations. Robert’s has worked in the NHS at Barnet General Hospital in North London and the Charity sector. Robert now currently works only in Private Practice.
Robert is a Transpersonal Integrative therapist by his core training. He attended the renowned Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education (CCPE) in London for 6 years, gaining a Diploma in Psychotherapy and Counselling, a UKCP accredited course. His core training has a strong Eastern philosophy, where as well as traditional talking therapies, he learnt to work at a level of depth with; guided meditation, visualisation, dreams and explore the healing potential of body work, particularly using breath, sound and movement. He works gently, creatively and curiously with mental health issues and has a calming manner and a patient approach to client work.
Robert has amassed a great deal of clinical and training experience and Supervises other therapists work and teaches newly qualified and experienced therapists. More latterly Robert has become particularly focused on trauma, having worked with clients with a range of traumatic experiences from medical trauma and medico-legal casework to complex trauma arising out of adverse childhood experiences or events indirectly experienced through a person’s ancestry. He is an excellent educator and teacher on The Grove’s courses and has a particular passion for body based trauma healing work.
Robert works with a wide range of issues using evidenced based approaches like EMDR and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, particularly for insurance funded work. These include: depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, work issues, communication problems, oppression, marginalisation, addiction, self-harm, neuro-diversity, relationship and marital problems, trauma & PTSD, bereavement, psychosexual issues and sexual trauma, suicidal thoughts and life issues arising from their early life and parenting experience.
As a performance coach and consultant in organisational development Robert works with senior leaders and executive teams to help them deliver on their career and organisational goals. He adapts psychological models to facilitate the agenda in an organisation and helps them to design and deliver outcomes around mental health, including: mental health training and advice, culture change programmes and onsite therapy and coaching. He has worked with commercial organisations in fin-tech, media, law and consumer products as a Leadership Coach. Robert works extensively with senior business leaders, including Partners in the Legal Profession and C-suite executives, as well as Founders and Entrepreneurs.
Robert practises from London W1, W9 or in NW11 for walking sessions in nature on Hampstead Heath, as well as Zoom based sessions.
