I’m Julie, and I’m a Trauma Psychotherapist and Humanistic Counsellor. I am here to provide you with the support and guidance you need on your journey towards healing and personal growth. My practice is built on a foundation of empathy and professionalism. I offer a range of therapeutic services to individuals of all ages. Whether you’re an adult seeking a warm and supportive environment for self-discovery, a parent looking for help for your child, or a young person seeking emotional balance and resilience, I’m here to assist you. I provide both short-term and long-term therapy, tailored to your specific needs.
I’m passionate about helping individuals find their strength and resilience amidst life’s challenges. My journey in counselling has been shaped by a deep commitment to understanding and supporting those in need. Here’s a little about me and how I’ve come to be here for you.
My path to becoming a therapist has been a lifelong exploration of human psychology and a passion for making a positive impact in the lives of others. I hold a First-Class Honours degree in psychology, and a Masters in Psychotherapeutic Practice (Distinction), which provided a strong foundation for my journey into the field of psychotherapy.
My experiences have been diverse, from volunteering at a behaviour clinic specialising in therapy for children with complex emotional and behavioural challenges to gaining practical insights into grief and bereavement counselling through my work with Cruse Bereavement Support. I have also trained in working with survivors of sexual abuse and violence as well as providing counselling to all ages in various G.P surgeries throughout Swansea. These early experiences fuelled my passion for helping individuals navigate the complexities of their emotions and life circumstances.
Throughout my career, I’ve pursued continuous learning and growth. I embarked upon a Masters in Psychotherapeutic Practice, which laid the groundwork for my specialisation in trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) work. My journey culminated in the recognition as a Certified Trauma Professional, after completing The Certificate in Trauma Therapy with The Grove Practice, a milestone that signifies my dedication to providing the highest level of trauma-informed care.
Additionally, I specialise in working with ADHD, and offer trauma-informed therapy for those who have experienced or witnessed traumatic events. Together, we’ll navigate your unique journey towards healing, empowerment, and a greater sense of well-being. Your path to healing and personal growth begins here.
