My name is Jenny and I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor and Therapist and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
I have a passion for working with people, building relationships and providing focused support. I initially studied Psychology and then went on to train as a Counsellor.
I have worked in a range of settings, including hospitals, schools, a hospice and a private counselling service.
I have significant experience with a range of issues, including health conditions, anxiety, depression, bereavement, loss and trauma. I have since completed specialist qualifications in Bereavement and Trauma Therapy.
I offer a personalised approach to working towards therapeutic goals, focusing on being genuine, empathetic, understanding, and non-judgmental. I value individual diversity and uniqueness, as well as fostering resilience and highlighting strengths. I will aim to ensure you feel comfortable in the therapy space and have the tools and techniques to help you feel at ease before we consider exploring the more difficult stuff.
I strongly believe that one size does not fit all and that you should be able to work at your own pace. My initial training included Person-centred, Cognitive behavioural and Gestalt modalities.
The specific Trauma approaches I am trained in include: Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (TF- CBT), The Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and Imagery Rescripting Reprocessing Therapy (IRRT). This means I have a range of approaches I can draw on, and together we can explore what may work best for you.
I can also incorporate creative ways of working and mindfulness if this is something that you would like to consider.
