I am an Accredited member of the BACP and I work with both individuals and couples to have better relationships, both with other people and themselves. Areas I work with include trauma, attachment and bereavement where I help people understand things such as difficult emotions, why relationships keep ending the same way, why it is difficult to voice needs or how to quieten a mean inner critic. Whether you are an individual or a couple, I focus on building a trusting relationship between us all. When people finish working with me they report feeling lighter, clearer able to make good decisions and that they can move forward in their chosen direction.
My training was Integrative to Foundation Degree level and my practice today remains Integrative. What this means is that in our work I draw upon many counselling theories/approaches, including psychoeducation, as I believe each client is unique and not one approach meets all client needs. I hold a Certificate in Trauma Focused Therapy (The Link Centre), a Level 5 in Attachment Based Psychotherapy (CPCAB), I have been trained by Gabor Mate in his approach, Compassionate Inquiry. I am Internal Family Systems informed and also integrate other theories/concepts that I have received training in, such as Transactional Analysis. I have also been trained in couple/relationship therapy and was awarded The Grove’s Certificate in Couple/Relationship Therapy, which is accredited by CORST at Level 5.
