Why do I need a trauma toolkit?

Sarah Briggs – Director Share

Do your clients know about trauma?

Do clients talk about traumatic events without acknowledging their trauma?

Are you confident in dealing with flashbacks, dissociation, nightmares?

Have you got a suicidality and severe depression action plan for clients with PTSD?

Why do you need a trauma toolkit?

Maybe answering those questions was rather revealing or made you think.

Elliot Davis and Sarah Briggs are among many therapists and psychiatrists who believe that trauma lies underneath many mental health issues which clients present to us. So it makes massive sense to become trauma-wise in your approach.

We wrote this course to give you a combined training which is delivered in a coherent way so that you can guide your clients through a method of reducing trauma that pretty much guarantees that you and your clients will become more trauma-wise so that you can target the elements that cause them the most distress. You get client-friendly handouts, templates for reports and clinic letters, plus certification in EFT Level 1 and Level 2, all wrapped up in a trauma toolkit you keep for ever.

All the therapists who take our trauma course want to do a really good job for their clients. But they also feel ill-equipped to work with clients who come along deeply affected by trauma. Those therapists tell us that sometimes trauma isn’t evident right at the start (maybe because the clients are building trust and figuring out if they can bring themselves to tell their therapist about past trauma).
