Rebecca McDonnell has over six years of experience working with adolescents, adults, and parents in a range of clinical settings. Three of these years were dedicated to working with survivors of Trafficking, Exploitation and Domestic abuse. Rebecca works with a wide range of difficulties, for instance, anxiety, low mood, trauma, PTSD, CPTSD, addictions, low self-esteem, attachment issues, loss, and complicated family dynamics.
Rebecca’s therapeutic approach is integrative, evidence-based, she draws on different methods depending on what is needed, including Internal family systems, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), attachment and trauma-focused therapy and psychodynamic approaches. Rebecca believes in respectful, compassionate, open, and collaborative practice, and is guided by what the client wants to focus on or what they bring to their sessions. Depending on what may be helpful and age appropriate, she uses talking therapy, art and play.
