I am a psychodynamically trained counsellor, with many years of experience in the NHS, Higher Education Sector and working with organisations who support LGBTQ+ clients, including clients living with HIV. I am very experienced in working with clients who have ADHD/ADD and autistic adults.
I am also qualified as a Person Centred Experiential Counselling for Depression Practitioner, have an Advanced Diploma in Couples Counselling & Psychosexual Therapy and a Certificate in Trauma treatments. I am a a fully qualified Clinical Supervisor.
I work integratively and can teach techniques, including CBT and mindfulness skills, to better help you challenge and manage the emotional stress of everyday life.
As an Accredited Member of the BACP, I adhere strictly to their Ethical Framework which supports the importance of safety, confidentiality, respect, and equality.
Being trained psychodynamically, enables me to look at patterns & ways of coping that you may have used in the past but that are repeating, unconsciously and often unhelpfully, in the present. Often these come to light when a crisis, such as bereavement; the end of a relationship; redundancy or illness, occurs. Perhaps an overwhelm of anxiety, depression & panic attacks has led you to this page now…
By offering an authentic, non-judgemental & confidential space I can help you to explore the difficult feelings & emotions which you are experiencing, to enable you to understand and process what is occurring now in order to navigate a way differently into the future.
Deciding to come into counselling can often feel daunting. I have also been in your shoes! Therefore I am always happy to meet you for an initial free chat, by telephone or online, so that you can get to know me and the way I work before you commit to anything.
