Talking Therapy is an opportunity for you to meet me in a safe, confidential setting and explore areas of your life you would like help with.
You may have some issues with coping at work, home or socially. A friend, colleague or doctor may have recommended you see a therapist.
Whilst counselling can’t necessarily take away issues that bother you, it can help you cope with events and people, and the experiences and feelings it brings up in you. Patients have told me how at ease and safe they feel with me and that they can be themselves; sometimes talking about issues, feelings and experiences they haven’t felt able to share with another person.
Whilst not exhaustive, patients have seen me for:
Compulsions/ Addictions, anxiety, borderline personality, cancer, childhood trauma/ abuse, couple therapy, depression, extramarital affairs/ relationships, HIV, panic disorders, LGBTIA, religious/ faith issues, self-confidence, self-esteem, sexuality, suicidality.
I believe that you have the abilities, experiences and insights to improve your own life, so my role as counsellor is to help you discover areas for the change you would like to make.Whatever course has brought you here, you are not alone and we can take your journey together. Thank you for taking this step.
